Amazon Firestick 4k Ultra HD
I recently wrote about I have received an Amazon Fire stick as a gift, you can read my initial thoughts about that in this post. I was surprised by a couple of things and you can read about them there.
I like the firestick, if nothing else I can put the TV on and switch to this using the one controller, don’t have to worry about getting two controls.
This then gives you one portal to your Amazon Prime account, Netflix etc. This has replaced my Apple TV now, I don’t use this at all.
I like the Netflix app on the Firestick, to me easier to use, nicer interface than Netflix on the Apple TV. Once you have this linked to your Amazon account as well makes it very easy to purchase from right here. Yes this can prove expensive as I have found out as we have become addicted to watching Modern Family so when we get to the end of the free series on Netflix, I can easily switch and purchase the next series.
These are very simple to setup, only takes a few minutes. One other nice feature and has an extra bonus as it winds the kids up is that you can use Alexa to open up the apps like Netflix. You can just press the button and say Alexa, load Netflix and you get the little beep and then it loads. Not just for this but you then have access to your other Alexa controlled devices in the house.
