I have been using this Sat Nav for my bike for a good few months now
- On-road or off-road navigation using the preloaded Garmin Cycle Map of Europe
- Input a distance and choose from up to 3 round-trip ride options
- Plan and download new routes to follow
- Relive and share your rides with Garmin Connect™ or Garmin Adventures
- Points of Interest (POIs) specifically for cyclists
One thing to note is this is Water-Resistant, which in out weather it needs to be. Now I am not recommending you doing this, I am not saying this will work for you, but I have left this in my pocket before and put this through the washing machine. As soon as it came out I was more than shocked when I switched it on and it came on straight away and after a minute or two it found the satellites and has been perfect every time I have used it since.
A great feature of this is the auto route feature, you can select that you want to ride say 20 miles and this will plan a round trip for you. It will then give you a selection of routes so you can select which one you would like. One small thing to note is that is may send you down a dirt track or mildly off road, not a problem if you are on a mountain bike but if you are on a road bike you may want to be careful.
I can connect this direct to my mac and then access the routes I have completed so I can upload them to strava etc, plus if you have worked out your route on something like ridewithgps etc you can then export it and place this onto the device.
This a great sat nav to have for your bike, it's very reasonably priced for what it can do, and once you have one you can't really do without one. It's great for is you just riding one day need the quickest way home then you can just pick home and it will work out that route for you.
I am always interested in your thoughts so if you have any comments or feedback then please feel free to add any comments, or you can mail me here.
