Who can forget the great GMail April Fools joke

It has been 14 years since the launch of GMail.  It was done on 1st April 2004, and although Google are well know for doing great April fools jokes, this one wasn't and they did actually launch the GMail service.

I don't think people beleived it at the time because it was offering 1gb of space at a time where you could get no where near that from the other offerings, Hotmail and Yahoo mail.
