BENQ 24 Inch Monitor
The is my review of the BENQ 24 Inch Monitor. With the extra working from home I wanted to get a large monitor. I can work from home and for the odd day working on the laptop only is ok, but for this extended period I wanted to make the setup a bit more comfortable.
Since my trusty iMac 27” died after 11 years of loyal service, I am yet to get a new one. With my MBA and iPad Pro I have managed without this for a while, although I do miss the screen etc.
I looked on Amazon and decided on this one, it’s the BenQ GL2460BH 24 Inch 1080p FHD, 1 ms Eye-Care LED Gaming Monitor, HDMI, B.I. Sensor, Speaker Black.
This was reasonably priced, when I got this it was £114, it was one of the highest rated screens, 4.5 stars average from over 2400 reviews. I was looking for one that was available to be delivered the next day on Prime. There was a lot of monitors sold out or had a long delivery time.
I have found the monitor to be great so far, this is running from the Thunderbolt port to the monitor with a HDMI cable, works perfectly for what I am using it for. Doing it this way, the sound is a bit tinny if I am watching YouTube etc, but I am not using this for gaming etc with decent kit, as mentioned this is just HDMI from my MacBook Air.
Took less than 5 minutes to have it out the box and set up ready to use, not loads of excess wasted packaging but it was well packaged and protected.
This is ideal for a home office setup, with this a full size keyboard and mouse I am very happy, the MBA is also acting as a second screen for having two things up.
I much prefer working from home personally, way less distractions and walk ups. Having my new “work system” setup with Trello, Evernote and Notion its going really well.
