Taketime

TakeTimeThis is my review of the application TakeTime by Trisendi.  TakeTime is a relaxation/meditation application, based on ancient Indian wisdom and knowledge of yoga and meditation.  This app will help you to relax, meditate or focus.

Stress has seemingly become an inseparable part of modern life. According to the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, stress is the second most common work-related health problem in Europe. Long office hours, massive work load, high expectations as well as balancing career with family life can be quite demanding. However, taking a little time for yourself to relax and recharge can be a rewarding investment in your mental well-being.

Meditation is an ancient practice known to give inner peace and improve mental health. Recently, a team of Harvard researchers and doctors proved how meditation rebuilds the brain's gray matter. The study also revealed how meditation provides psychological and cognitive benefits, which persists throughout the day.

"Meditation is a great way to preserve your mental health and reduce stress. However, it can also be difficult to find the time to meditate on a daily basis. And how often do we meditate at the office or on the bus? When using TakeTime, you can meditate whenever, wherever”, says Kasper Nesager, co-founder.

Currently this is only available for iOS and it is a universal app so it will work on both your iPhone and your iPad.

The app can be downloaded for free in the App Store. The meditation themes can then be downloaded: With advertisement (for free) and without advertisement (from 79p to £2.99). The premium version can be purchased for £19.49 which contains all the content.

When you first open the app you have a variety of options available to you.  You have

  • Relax
  • Balance
  • Prepare
  • Serenity
  • Recharge
  • Goodnight
  • Icelandic Harmony

They all have their own specific purpose for what you would like to do, they are all different lengths in time, so if you have a few minutes you can complete one of the programs, all you need is your earphones.

You have two options for this application, you can either stream the program or you can download them to play when it suits you.

All you need is a pair of earphones and you then switch off, all you need to do is press play and sit back.  While the music is playing you are presented with a variety of different pictures and landscapes, me I have found this good on the train, you can just press play and switch off to the chaos around you.

You have two options there is a free option and fully paid premium application which is £19

I am always interested in your thoughts so if you have any comments or feedback then please feel free to add any comments, or you can mail me  here.
