Introduction to Python

Introduction to PythonThis is my review of the video Introduction to Python from O'Reilly.  I have been teaching myself Python for a while now, and I have been using the O'Reilly range of Python books.  When I saw this video I thought I would try this out as this maybe a different way to learn.

Personally I found this tutorial very useful, there are 19 individual videos.  Each video is one chapter so to speak and they all teach a different section.  They start at the very beginning by explaining what can be done with Python right up to example program that use all the basic programming concepts, loops, conditional statements, functions, reading/writing to files , etc.

They are mostly around 15-20 minutes in length so you can easily fit them in at some point and they are a good length so you concentrate through the whole video and not get easily distracted.

I felt the pace of the videos were just about right, the explanation of the topics were perfect for an introduction video, and I found I had enough time to type of some examples while she was going through them.

At the beginning they give you a link which contains all the exercises and example code, so you can check your own code if you are getting a bit lost with the exercises.  You can also find all the text files you need when the examples start to get more complex in the later chapters.

I am always interested in your thoughts so if you have any comments or feedback then please feel free to add any comments, or you can mail me  here.
