So these two tech giants are joining forces to develop technology to alert people if they have come into contact with others found to be infected.
They want to do this without an app, they are hoping that users will volunteer to join the program.
Once signed up, using bluetooth it will probe other phones that are close enough for sufficient time for you to be at risk. It would then alert you to let you know that someone has been infected.
They are saying this would be anonymous and no GPS data would be recorded either.
I can imagine many people will be dubious about this and I wonder how many people will actually sign up to it.
