Google to shut Google plus

So it seems Google is going to shut down Google+. It comes about after it appears there was a bug way back in March but they never disclosed this.

This may of affected half a million users, but Google have said it was not serious enough to disclose it. It seemed they were more interested in avoiding a regulatory investigation.

Google said in a statement

In a statement, the firm said the issue was not serious enough to inform the public.

"Our Privacy and Data Protection Office reviewed this issue, looking at the type of data involved, whether we could accurately identify the users to inform, whether there was any evidence of misuse, and whether there were any actions a developer or user could take in response. 

"None of these thresholds were met here."

I wasn’t even sure it was still in use, I had an account but have not logged into it in years.
