In this recent update to Instagram they have made some changes so now it will act like Whatsapp. By default it will show the last time you were online, if you are online now and if you are typing etc.
Now many people might not like this, the same way they don't on whatsapp, I have a few friends where it doesn't say when they were on last or if you have read the messages.
You can turn this off in the Settings Page.
On your page, click the Cog wheel to go into the Options, Scroll Down. There you have the switches to disable Save Origianl Photos, Vibrate for Notifications and Show Activity Status.
