I was recently in New York and on the Monday I received a text from Three to say that as I am in a Feel at Home destination, I can use my call & text allowance and I can use my data at no extra cost, it's all part of my package in the UK.
I thought this is fantastic, now I could use the phone exactly like I would at home, and not have to worry about being totally ripped off when you are abroad.
One thing to note is you can't use your phone as a mobile hotspot so you can't connect up your ipad/tablet to your phone.
If you do use all your allowance, or you are on Pay as you go, there are lower rates, these are
- Calls up to 18.8p a minute
- Texts up to 5.9 a minute
- Internet data 10p a Mb
- Receiving calls and texts are free
