Windows shortcuts: quick fixes and useful commands

These are a few Windows shortcuts and quick commands that can save time when you are troubleshooting or trying to get something done quickly.

Win + K: connect to a TV wirelessly

Use Win + K to open the Cast / Connect panel.

Typical uses:

  • Connect to a TV or monitor that supports Miracast.

  • Connect to a wireless display adapter.

Notes:

  • Your PC and the TV need to be on the same network.

  • If your TV does not appear, check that wireless display or screen mirroring is enabled on the TV.

Ctrl + Shift + Win + B: reset graphics driver

Press Ctrl + Shift + Win + B to reset the graphics driver.

When to use it:

  • The screen is frozen or black.

  • Display output looks corrupted.
