You can easily activate or de-activate automatic spell check in Evernote.
Below are the ways in both the Windows and the Mac version of Evernote.
Mac
Click the preferences menu under the "Evernote" application menu and uncheck “check spelling as you type” to deactivate
Windows
Click the preferences option under the "Tools" menu and uncheck “check spelling as you type” to deactivate
