App StoreI had a call recently with a problem a client was having with their Mac. Although he had upgraded an application on his Mac, periodically it would then flash up the he needed to update the application once again.
Luckily this was an easy one as he was switching on his external drive to copy some files over. This drive is split, one partition is a clone drive of his machine, and the other is what he uses to store some files. So each time his clone drive was being switched on it was thinking that this was the application that needed updating. Once he updated the cloned backup the problem went away.
I have also seen before where this is a problem, even if you don't have a clone drive. If you do run into this then try and remove the cache file for the app store, the location is
/~/Library/Caches/Comm.apple.appstore
Hopefully this will help you resolve the issue. Do you know of any other ways to get around this? Feel free to contact me using the link below.
