Feb 15 the application cannot be opened -1712

Today I noticed a couple of my automated jobs had stopped working, as I hadn't had the mails with the outputs, plus I could see the log had not updated. There were no errors, so I tried to run one of the jobs manually, that is when I got the error message from the title

To overcome this error, you can try the following steps

Load Activity Monitor
In the top right search box type in the application name
One you see the process name (will probably be in red as there is a problem)
Click the process then go the View menu and select Quit Process
When you get the prompt click Force Quit

Once you have done that you should be able to load the application you were having problems with.
