I am sure that at some time you have had a strange error appear on your mac and all it displays is a number, for example -100.
As there is no description associated, this really is no help at all. Before when you saw this error, you would then have to make a note of the number and head to your search engine of choice to look it up to try and determine what it means. Well recently listening to a tip on the Mac Geek Gab podcast, they mentioned you can find this out from your mac itself.
If you load terminal and type macerror followed by the error code it will give you the description of the problem. For example this is the output from my terminal session.
As you can see this gives much better information, and from here you may be able to solve the issue quicker.
